Pricing

Early access is free.
Launch pricing, in advance.

All three products — FaraSYS, FaraEDA, FaraSW — are free for design partners during early access. What follows is the pricing we plan to charge at launch, published now so nobody gets surprised later. We charge for the value of the tool — seats and capability — never for the compute it burns.

Our pricing principle

We charge for the tool, not for tokens.

Compute is our cost of goods, not your pricing axis. We're not an AI middleman reselling you tokens at a markup, and we won't put a meter on your thinking. You buy seats and capability; we manage the engine cost inside the price — and we take the risk of getting that math right, not you.

FaraEDA plans

Four tiers. One shape.

An accessible general seat, plus a compliance tier that captures the certification value. Every tier — including Free — ships all the truth: every gate, the full verification ladder, honest coverage ceilings, and receipts. We don't paywall the bad news.

Seat bands

The bigger your team, the cheaper the seat.

The seat is the unit, and the per-seat rate declines by volume band. Inside a band, adding a teammate is cheap. Crossing into the next band lowers the rate for everyone — we don't want to tax collaboration, we want to reward it.

Example: 3 engineers on FaraEDA = $297/mo, all-in. No compute bill on top.

How the allowance works

Jobs, not mystery credits.

The unit is a generation job: one bounded engine operation that produces one artifact — one decompose of a requirement, one test scaffold, one authored requirement, one bounded seam pass. Not a token. Not an "ACU." A named piece of work with a result you can point at.

Included — and meter-free

Every tier includes a generous monthly job allowance, sized so the typical user never touches overage. Inside your allowance there is no meter, no counter, no anxiety. The allowance is pooled across your team's seats — engineers burst at different times, and a shared bucket is fairer.

Overage — opt-in and capped

Beyond the allowance, overage is off by default. You opt in, you set a hard ceiling. We warn at 80% and stop at your cap. No surprise invoice, ever.

62 of 100 jobs usedcap set by you

Receipted, never opaque

If you ever do go over, you see exactly what you're paying for: "3 decompose jobs over your 100 — each $2 — here is what each one produced." Named jobs, itemized, with the artifact attached. You will never get a bill for a mystery credit balance you can't reconstruct.

Our commitments

The promises we're making in public.

Most of these exist because we watched other AI tools break them. We're writing them down before we charge anyone a dollar.

◆ Permanent
A job's meaning never changes

We will never quietly redefine what a job is to claw back value. The dollar meaning of a job is a permanent promise.

◆ Rhythm
No daily or weekly caps

Engineering is bursty. Heavy two days a week is fine if your month is within allowance. Sub-monthly quotas punish normal work.

◆ Default
Overage off by default

You opt in and set the ceiling. We warn at 80%, stop at your cap. Silence is never consent to a bigger bill.

◆ Honest
All truth in every tier

Free users see the same gates, ceilings, and receipts paying customers do. We never paywall the bad news about your design.

◆ Locked
Design partners: 24 months

Partners who help us build this get their rate grandfathered for 24 months after launch. Named, marketed, kept.

◆ Advance
Published before it binds

Every future price change posts here before it takes effect. Existing customers are forward-only for their locked window.

◆ Savings
Cheaper engines, bigger allowances

When compute costs fall, you get larger allowances or lower overage — not a redefined job.

◆ Free forever
The free tier stays

Free-forever-for-individuals survives launch. It isn't a trial with a fuse on it.

Why the AI is bundled

No bring-your-own-key — on purpose.

We bundle and validate the engine rather than letting you plug in a key. That isn't lock-in for its own sake: it's how we can stand behind what the engine produces. The engine runs only on models we've validated — Opus 4.8 today, broadened as each candidate passes — and the validation record for every approved model is an auditable artifact. A tool that generates evidence can't run on an engine nobody vetted.

  • Approved-model list, with a validation record you can audit.
  • No BYOK at any tier — individual or enterprise.
  • Need control? That's private / air-gap deployment — our validated engine inside your environment.

The Fara family

Three legs. One trace. One bill.

Entry seat rates (2–5 band) below — the two engineering seats at parity, with FaraSYS a step above as the org-wide hub the others trace to. Higher bands and compliance-tier prices publish before launch.

FaraSYS
$149 /seat/mo

The org-scoped system of record. The hub the other two trace to.

FaraEDA
$99 /seat/mo

Requirements → synthesis → evidence for boards.

FaraSW
$99 /seat/mo

Traced firmware with DO-178C evidence and measured coverage.

Full-V family bundle — about 25% off

All three legs on one program: one allowance pool, one receipted ledger, and a board and its firmware tracing to the same system requirements. That cross-discipline trace is buyable from exactly one place. Example: 8 seats across the family ≈ $1,770/mo — roughly $2,280/seat/year, all-in, with no compute bill on top.

Pricing FAQ

The billing questions, answered.

What exactly is a job?+
One bounded engine operation that produces one artifact — one decompose of a requirement, one test scaffold, one authored requirement, one bounded seam pass. It's a named piece of work with a result you can inspect, not a token count and not an abstract credit.
Do you charge per seat?+
Yes — the seat is the unit, priced in volume bands that decline as your team grows. We price the value of the tool, not the compute it burns. Inside a band, adding a teammate is cheap; crossing into the next band lowers everyone's rate.
Why not just charge for compute?+
Because compute is our cost of goods, not your problem. Metering tokens makes us an AI middleman and makes you ration your own thinking. We'd rather take the risk on engine cost and sell you a tool with a price you can predict.
Can I bring my own API key?+
No — at any tier. We bundle and validate the engine so we can stand behind what it produces; a tool that generates certification evidence can't run on an unvetted model. If what you need is control, the answer is private / air-gap deployment: our validated engine running inside your environment.
What happens if I hit my allowance?+
Nothing surprising. Overage is off by default — you'd have to opt in and set a ceiling first. If you have, we warn at 80% and stop at your cap, and every overage job is itemized with the artifact it produced.
Are there daily or weekly limits?+
No. The billing month is the window; the allowance is pooled across your team's seats. Burst as hard as you like on a Tuesday. (There's a generous concurrency limit to keep the platform stable, set high enough that normal work never touches it.)
Does unused allowance roll over?+
Not by default — it's monthly, use-it-or-lose-it. If your projects run in uneven phases, ask about an annual capacity contract: a prepaid, discounted, hard-capped job pool you draw down across twelve months and burst by month. It also makes a procurement-friendly PO with a fixed ceiling.
What do early-access partners pay?+
Nothing during the program. We want your hard projects and your honest complaints, not your invoice. At launch, partners get their rate grandfathered for 24 months — and the Free tier stays free forever for individuals.
Will these prices change before launch?+
The entry seat rates above are the numbers we're planning against. Higher-band rates and compliance-tier prices are still being calibrated and will publish here before they bind — that's the rule for every future change, too: it posts before it takes effect.
What will FaraSYS and FaraSW cost?+
Entry seat rates are published above ($149 and $99). Both are free in early access today, and their full plans publish here the same way FaraEDA's did — in advance, before anyone is charged.
